It's not fashion, it's a necessity.

I'm talking about these blasted bangs.  I love bangs.  But, I am a hair changer.  I change it up...  And I've had bangs a couple of years now so it's time to grow them out.  Nothing more horrid than growing out bangs.  So, in my frustration, I quick braided them up.

Not excited about this look.  Maybe if the rest of my hair was longer or something.
I want to cut my hair and tried to talk X-man into cutting it tonight, but he didn't have his fancy hair cutting shears.  I told him it might look even cooler cut with shitty dull scissors.  He wasn't having it :(
Lots of jewelry, mostly vintage, but the huge cuff is a $24 FreePeople splurge.  Lovely vintage tunic is for sale here.
My shoes are Matiko Lyon sandals shown before here.
Pretty soon I will be wearing one of my favorite tunics of all time...   I'll let the suspense build in the meantime.  I know you'll all be on the edge of your seats, waiting with bated breath lolzzz
Seriously, I can't wait to cut my hair.

  1. I didn't get the full impact of this outfit until I scrolled down and I love it, especially with those shoes and your big jewels. Maybe some fake pink hair strands from the dollar store woven into your braids will give you strength until you can get your hair cut...! I know the feeling - I need it NOW.

  4. Bangs! We call it a fringe!!! Bangs is a fun term, though. I'd like to have them, but my hair is far too thin, and I have a horrible cowslick.
I like this braided look!!! It's funky! Goes great with that lovely tunic!
I always hack at my own hair, not that you can tell!

  5. Dress over pants! One of my favorite looks. I think braiding your bangs is a good solution. Looking forward to your new look and the favorite tunic of all time.

  6. Helga is right - I looked at my English hubby like he was from Mars when he referred to bangs as a fringe! I can relate to hair growth frustration, though I am a fan of bangs as I think, generally, they make a person look younger. :) I love everything about your outfit. Looking forward to seeing your fave tunic!

  7. I love this look, the tunic is divine and a bargain to buy as well...it's a real shame I'm still on my self imposed buying ban. If the braided plaits are long enough you could always fasten them at the back of your head for a cute milkmaid look or another idea would be to add some funky feathers to the ends for a more Pocahontas vibe. My hair is a constant disaster area and has been for most my life so I've just got used to it and when it really gets me down, I stick on a wig. You look fab in this gorgeous ensemble...xXx

  8. the tunic looks great on you and with the trousers and platforms - impressed you are selling it! I could never own a shop selling vintage clothes - I'd want to keep all the good stuff!

  10. I think your plaits look great, they go really well with the feel of your whole outfit. I like everything about this look on you, you look so summery and like you should be in a field of daisies. Like Helga, I have a massive cows lick at the front of my hair so I never have a nice fringe that lies flat. xx

  11. Oh I think the plaits look cute, Becky! I know what you mean though, growing out a fringe is a nightmare. I'm sticking with mine till I die, can't face that in-between stage ever again!
Love the tunic and that big blue cuff is fabulous! I really like this look on you, kinda hippy and ethnic and bohemian and really cool! xxxx

  15. Gorgeous tunic! I love the colors. I say go for bangs! Then again, I've recently shaved my head, cut the rest off later, and today bleached it!!

  17. I would never have thought to put that perfect necklace with that already embellished neckline. But perfect is the key word. This is a wonderful, wonderful combination of items ... great styling, young lady. You look dramatic and very Game of Thrones!

  18. Growing out hair is such a pain, but I love the braids you've done. You look so cool in that outfit! Since you like bangs, have you tried just doing them differently - asymmetric or shredded? Forget the old man, you can do it yourself (just cut very little at a time until you get what you want).

  22. I love the way you're styling your growing-out fringe, it's a brilliant idea!!!! Oh it's a terrible stage to go through when you just want to cut, cut, cut isn't it? I've noticed so many of us bloggers cut our own hair and I thinks that's so cool - we are total DIY'ers!!! xoxoxoxoxox
