NYC

Been MIA a bit because, you know, summer!!  Kids are out of school and must be entertained!
We took a little family trip to NYC and stayed in Brooklyn for the first time and LOVED it.
This is the family at the Museum of Natural History in front of a meteor.

The wee ones in front of a big crystal.

Bit of a ham???  Every pic I tell you!

We also went to Central Park and the to show the kids Miss Liberty...

We just took the free Staten Island ferry and it gets quite close.  You can go to the deck or outside seats to look and then there are even more seats inside with a snack booth and everything.  I don't know why people pay so much $$$ for ferry rides that are essentially the same thing.

The X-man and I have been to the city 4x and we always stop the our old punk haunt the village and St. Marks.

Funny seeing him here with the kids now instead of hanging with gutter punks.
The place is really cleaned up in comparison to how it used to be.

Fun stores.

We rented an amazing apartment through Airbnb and had an amazing experience.  Highly recommend checking this site for travel accommodations.

I recently bought this floral crop top that I saw on another's blogger post.  It is cheap and from boohoo. It was on sale and I had a coupon code.  Didn't have anything high-waisted that fit comfy at the moment so I threw it on over a dress because I was so desperate to wear it!  It reminds me of one I had when I was young that is long gone :)

Hooking up to Patti's Visible Monday!!!!!

  9. I love NY!!! I wish I knew that before about the Staten Island ferry, because we paid a lot and to be quite honest, the trip to the Statue wasn't quite worth it! I LOVE that you're rocking floral with floral, which is something I recently did and people felt it was 'too much', but I absolutely love an explosion of prints, and your purple, funky hair just elevates it!

  13. What a brilliant trip, - I would LOVE to take the kids to New York. (If I'm honest, it would be even better to go without them, ha!) When I visited NYC, we did the Staten Island ferry trip too. We did Ellis Island museum, which was excellent, really moving. I just love New York!
Great pics, love your hammy Littlest (I have one of those too...) and your beautiful florals, and your awesome hair.
PS. Funnily enough, I am wearing a dress today which I bought on that same trip to the US, 16 years ago - think I got my money's worth on that frock! xxx

  21. Hi, Thanks for your comments re: my style. I don't know how I've missed our on your blog before! I'm going to echo what everyone else said and say that those are some of the cutest kids I've ever seen and your man is pretty darn good-looking.
I love the floral mix with the dress and the blouse. And I'm really digging those large stone bracelets.

  27. What amazing pics, Becky, and what a good looking family you are! I love the new hair, and I have to say, I am having a happy 90s flashback looking at your dress. I had a dress with that same pattern in the 90s. I think the make was Southern Comfort or Satellite Drive, am I right? Xoxo

  33. Hey, love the pics of the kids so adorable! Ack, my old neighbourhood is nothing like when I lived there & you look far too young to have experienced that (not saying you should've, while it was fab, it was also hell on earth). I do wind up going back every so often (okay the teen likes it, try explaining that squalor was much better!) only to be further disappointed each time. At least a lot of the old (talking 60s-70s) landmarks are still there so I can do my r n' r tour for visiting friends! Thanks for stopping by my blog XXX PS LOVE the purple hair! tip: wrap it in plastic, put a shower cap over & sleep overnight, then rinse -- it'll last much better, although purple is tough, you can get a good stain so it won't look faded so quickly if you keep at it!
