Special Delivery!!!

Soooo, I've been doing lots of stuff lately.  I can't tell you everything, because it would be just way too much blogging for me, so I will share some weird random moments.  The best kind, right!?

On a little trip my family took recently to Helen, GA., we found ourselves near Cleveland, GA.  Nine miles to be exact!  This is the home of the BabyLand General Hospital---where Cabbage Patch Kids are born.

Here is Baby Dream and Girl London with my preggers sister-in-law.

The salon!

Nursery.

Here is Baby Dream pulling a new baby right out of a cabbage patch.

Now pay attention!!!!!  This is the MAGICAL TREE and special CABBAGE PATCH where a nurse assists births when you are there---it's a big production.

Obviously, the girls adopted some kids...  Courtesy of Grandma.  Here is the family for the official ceremony and stuff.

There was this one doll who looked like she really needed a family.  I think she's been waiting a long time for someone to take her home :(

(She's actually wearing a pretty sweet vintage 70s Hang Ten tee and badass psychedelic print skirt.)

Nowwwwwwwww for a flashback!!!!

I am originally from Atlanta and moved to Florida when I was about 12, but with so much of my family there, I ended up creepin' around GA a time or two.
My mom and dad had taken me to Babyland when I was a kid and one day when X-man and I were (most likely) on our way back home from Thanksgiving with my family in Helen...  I spotted BabyLand.
I vaguely remember driving by and seeing the Babyland sign and being like, FUUUUUCK!  We must stop here!  You must witness this!! (It's free BTW.)
And X-man being like whaaaaat????  (Because it's honestly hard to really understand until you go.)
It used to be different, less fancy, a little crappier, but still very magical!

Circa: 1993 or thereabouts

Mwah!

X-man!

Trust me, we could of NEVER predicted two decades and two kids later back at BabyLand!
Hahahahahahah!

I'll leave you with this:

When u wear what u want

Some styles that I love are just not flattering on me...  The sort of big tent dresses and what-not.  Wearing them anyway!

Sitting on the swing we hung from a tree...  The neighbors house is behind me lolzzzzz  They get to witness my amazing modelling.  Lucky them, huh?

This was the sort of dress I wanted to buy when I purchased that overpriced one I talked about here, that wasn't even vintage :(
This one is 80s, I adore the glorious 60s and 70s versions, but they are rare and expensive.  I found this one at an inexpensive Downtown Vintage Market that is kind of awesome.  They even have a cafe and bar.
It's purplish, cotton, has an elephant/paisley/floral print and is thick enough so you can just wear it w/o worrying about being too sheer.  I love sheer, but it often means having to REALLY figure out proper undergarments to make it work.  So you don't get arrested or whatever.

But, like I said, this stuff is not really flattering for me.  Fuck flattering!

Here is a nice chunky rear view for you!

Also, this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vix is a vintage fairy making one of my vintage dreams come true!!!  I have ALWAYS wanted one of these bastard massive cuffs and she sent me one.  X-man loves it, Girl London tried to run off with it, because it's amazing.  THANK YOU!!!!

This is a vintage handbag that was handmade from some old super soft denim and embroidery.  It was an inexpensive Etsy purchase.  I really like it!

I am wearing a vintage shell necklace from Antique Addict.  One of the dopest vintage stores in Tampa with the nicest owner ever.  She's been there forever.  X-man and I would shop there as teens in high school.  She was always so sweet and encouraging when I started my own business.  Great lady, small biz owner, appreciates vintage, has so much knowledge, very kind and helpful---and has great clothes at great prices!!  I do miss her.

Kind of a crappy pic!  The other necklace is a hand carved coconut one from my first trip to Puerto Rico with the X-man...  Probably 15 or more years ago.

Anyway, lots of second-hand goodies here so linking up to Bella's SecondHandFirst!!

Becky

I know! Another waterfall!

This time we were at Catawba Falls.  I wore my kimono jacket from Marketplace Handwork of India.  They let me choose an item to review and I chose this cotton kimono jacket, sold here.  It is definitely my style with an Ikat-style print and it's cotton.  This is the sort of item I use all the time when it's hot---easier than sunscreen!  Just cover-up!  Annnnd when I go on hikes.  There is usually a break from the sun, but I use usually wear long sleeves or a lightweight jacket so I don't get as many scratches or close-encounters with critters.

Old hats, jeans/pants, and sneakers are usually the way I roll on hikes.  With a swimsuit underneath in case we end up somewhere where the water is irresistible.

FOXY!!!!!

I customized my jacket with this patch from Etsy store PhoenixCompost.  Super cool little shop with anarchist/feminists/environmentalists and what-have-u patches.  I also want to add a few studs to the sleeves, but I'm slow with projects.  I felt it was the perfect patch because it looks cool and MarketPlace of India is a fair trade company.  I've had lots of compliments already.
Hooking up to Patti's Visible Monday because we out here!

Love & Light,
Becky
