Memorial Day Weekend Lewks

A few lewks from this long weekend when we take some time to remember those who fell in the service of duty to this country and celebrate what they was fighting for...

Trying my hand at collages.  This one features my lovely red, white, and blue outfit with a DIY Adidas shirt, a vintage plaid pleated skirt, cheapo Ebay socks, and super cheap killer Adidas shoes from Ebay.  I'd been eyeing a sweet 70s pair, but these were a later version that were soooooo inexpensive and my size.  That star spangled trefoil on the back tho...

Old wife-beater tank and cheap cotton bells with stars bought on the last trip to NYC.

Handmade 6 inch platforms with a wooden heel.  More for show than for walking. I mean, they're totally for walking I'm just clumsy.

Candyman put on a red, white, and blue jersey!!

Also, just a typical vintage Indian skirt and tons of jewelry!

Sexy Sadidas

So this is me trying to take a cool pic of my Sadidas hat.  I used a filter.

I was waiting to go out and decided to wear what I like to call a Kelly Bundy dress.  It's a late 80s/early 90s green velvet tight dress. This one is long sleeve and emerald green.  I also wore one of my vintage 60s crosses I got from the Oldsmar Flea Market.  Plus, my engraved 'Rebecca' silver heart locket and lots of rings.

My horrible hair.  One of the reasons I def needed to wear a hat.  My roots are like 2 or 3 inches long and I just can't afford a salon visit right now and trust me, it takes a professional for me to be blonde. Plus, I think the hat sort of off sets the sexy dress in a good way.

This is my 'Panda' coat lol that I first showed in this post.  I wore it a bunch over winter and it was super cheap from Rugged Warehouse.  People literally try to pet my arms when I wear it.  It's that soft.  It was kind of cool that night so I decided to bust the coat back out!

Trying to get a good pic so you can see how green this velvet dress really is because it looks so dark in my ridiculously bad pics :(

Since it was unexpectedly chilly again last week I decided to bust out my thick thigh high socks!!  I hiked the dress up a little for u so u can see some leg.  U know u likey ;)
I actually have short thick legs.  It's not the 'ideal'.  The only good part is that I can usually get my butt to get pretty big if I eat a lot and work out, so there is that upside!

Wearing the platform YRU shoes that I've had a few years.  Don't bust them out a lot.  I showcased them here before in this post.

Here is a Sadidas story.  One day Candyman and I took all the kids roller skating and his 10 year old son fell.  He was a little hurt and sad and my 6 year old daughter, Baby Dream aka Coco Loco, ran up to him to see if he was ok.  He shook his head no at the time.  She reached down to pat him on the shoulder and looked him in the eyes and said, "That is sooooo Sadidas" in a super sympathetic voice. This little guy loves Adidas and Puma as much as we do and it was the PERFECT context for the word.  He started cracking up through his tears and everything was all good.  We all got up to keep rollerskating.

P.S. I love memes and I think I'll just share one with you.  It's honestly one of the reasons I love Instagram so much.  The meme factor.

ALISON WONDERLAND trap, hip hop and bass DJ set in The Lab LA and the show I went to...

Last summer I had the chance to listen to whatever music I wanted practically all the time again and I started playing tons of techno, or EDM (electronic dance music), as it's now called---because I'm old or whatever.  One of the first new sets I heard was by Alison Wonderland.  She's a female DJ who also trained as a classical musician, a trained cellist.

This set by her literally blew my mind and I would play it daily.  I still probably play it at least once a week a year later.

It's also one of the sets my boyfriend, who was just a buddy at the time, became obsessed with when I had him listen to it.  He may also be slightly obsessed with AW herself because she's kind of gorgeous and awesome and her style is DOPE!!!
This is straight up 90s old school style and how I also like to dress sometimes, so I am kind of crazy about her, too.  More of this style will be discussed later.
So, since I live in Asheville, which is a super liberal cool town, there are a lot of hippie types.  I'm into it---just not like a total granola girl.  I told Candyman, my friend at the time, we're gonna see this chick in concert and we're gonna find some friends that like EDM.  It's not the popular thing here, but we like it and we're here, so there must be others like us!!!  We will root them out.
And also we will see AW play live next year in 2016.  #GOALS  (More on this later because there is actually more...)
At the time it seemed rather unlikely because she played big shows in Australia and like the West Coast and stuff.
Fast forward about 6 months to my birthday, January 2016, and my bestie is in town and we're all hanging out celebrating and I am SOOOO HAPPY and all the sudden I decide to google Alison Wondeland because it's January of 2016 and I REMEMBER saying I'm gonna see this girl spin this year.  I pull up her concert venues and she's playing huge events everywhere.  Massive shows in major cities.  But, she's also playing The Orange Peel in Asheville in February 2016---in about 4 weeks.  It's a small but amazing venue in downtown Asheville.  Less than 2 miles from my house.  Tickets were $16.  I can def afford $16 ticket at a little venue less than 2 miles from my house!!  One 2016 goal done!

We had such a great time.  My bff came back to town for the show and Candyman's son met us there...  He is called Mr. P.S.B.  (Mister Pretty Sleepy Baby) aptly named by Savory C for his proclivity to sleep on the couch and look pretty and be a bit of a baby even though he is 17.
It was a great night.

My Ebay bought Adidas tracksuit that I first clocked in this ad and went nuts over.  Found it cheap separately on Ebay and was like ANOTHER DREAM REALIZED!!!  lolol

Got it!!!!  For cheap, too :)

Happy!!  Luv these faces.

Candyman and me...  My crew name is FancyBoy.

Cute collage of pics from the night.  Candyman made it bcuz I'm not talented with the photos as u well know.  My green shell toes were a Christmas present from him last year and I don't want to shock u, but these green shell toes go with practically everything.  I feel like my face looks weird in the pic at the top right.

Anyways, this was a pretty good memory from February <3

The only class I have...

are these 2 class rings!!!

Pointer finger has the bf's class ring on it.  We went to the same high school and the mascot was a cowboy.  Back in the day he used to have 2 guns, but PC kicked in and they unarmed him...  This class ring still has the original cowboy mascot with the guns lolol.
I keep a stacker ring on top because it's loose.  Middle finger is a vintage 90s poison ring and my ring fingers are also my 90s rings that I wear together.  Somehow managed not to lose these.  I've lost 2 fav rings recently and a toe ring.  It's miserable to lose your fav jewelry.   Thumb ring is just a modern retail one.

Ring finger is vintage.  Middle finger is my mother's class ring from '69 and the pointer is a 90s silver ring recently bought in Florida.   Thumb ring is my mother's wedding ring that she gave me after my father passed away and I never take it off.  Pinky ring is costume from my bf that he found.

Wearing a vintage 90s sheer Body Central brand top that is sort of Mondrian inspired print.  Vintage 80s black and gold leather belt.  Retail black stretchy skinny pants.

My 70s vintage thrifted studded black polyester jacket that I've been wearing since the 90s.  A lot of my old staples on today at once.

The back!

2 necklaces.  My bf's insanely awesome silver necklace that I wear like everyday and a vintage scorpion necklace.

I love scorpions.  People always ask me...  Are you a Scorpio?  And I'm like, NO.  But I am deadly.

Retail leather boots with gold accents that I've worn to pieces, but just love.

Distresses leather is the best.

We'll just leave this as a simple OOTD post.  Nothing too complicated.  It's late.  My mom is in town visiting.  I've eaten too much fried chicken and french fries.  Time for bed.  SATURDAY NIGHT PEOPLE mf Saturday night!

Game Day & Tiger Bay Cafe

Sooooooooo, today was a big game day.  Liverpool vs. Sevilla and my boy's team lost :(

He is a big time soccer fan.  More on that later, but let's just say he was super stoked and looking forward to this game.  He wore his vintage 1991 Liverpool jersey in anticipation.  Looking super fine if I do say so myself.  He'd probably say it too, tho.

Before the game we decided to pop out for lunch.  We have a pretty tight budget, so we picked a really reasonable little lunch spot we'd both been wanting to try.  It's a combo coffee bar & cafe.

It's called BattleCat Coffee Bar.  I've had the coffee and stuff, but never eaten at the little cafe inside, called Tiger Bay Cafe.

It has a super lovely outdoor area

We headed straight through to the back to Tiger Bay Cafe since we were starved!

We got the Smoked Chicken Salad Wrap & the Chicken Avacodo Panini.  It was like $16 or something including a 20% tip.

The super cute staff let me take her pic!  She had a lovely accent and when I accidentally gave her my old bank card and it got declined, she insisted I cut it up immediately so I wouldn't keep making the same mistake lololol!!!!  She grabbed the scissors and was basically helping me live my life!!  The bf----who I like to call "CandyMan" (mf eats a LOT of candy) was like, "I've been trying to get her to do that FOREVER!"
Srsly tho...  U think I'm gonna listen to him?  I did what the cute cafe lady asked immediately hahahaha!!!!!

One thing I love about Asheville is all the art.  I've mentioned before it's been called 'The Paris of the South' and is a huge haven for artists.  Many small local biz support local artists and have a lot of displays.

Cute little spaces to eat and hang in here!!

This is the BattleCat area in the front where you can grab coffee and beer and stuff among other refreshments.

You know how it goes with the phone pics!!!  So sorry for the poor quality, but I think you get the gist.
The day was so lovely we obvi sat outside.  This is bae b4 he knew his team would lose.

He drank an IPA.  I think it was 2 Hearted...   And I drank a Crispin Cider.

We split our meals bcuz we like to share and get to taste more stuff.  Both were SOOOOO delish.  I think the Chicken Avacodo Panini was my fav this round tho, but I wouldn't say no to the Smoke Chicken Wrap!!!

On the way home we stopped at Ingles and I grabbed guess what???  Some more hot sauce!!  This is a local Asheville made sauce called Firewalker Hot Sauce that I really like a lot.  So does my bff Sam.  Sam and I first had it over cheese sticks at a local pub.  CandyMan claims it's not hot enough so I guess the whole bottle is for me and my girl if there is any left when she gets here for another visit.

Off to check out what everyone else is up to!!!

Happy Mother's Day Sloots

Heyyyyyyyy hotties,

Here is another mad lazy post and I'm actually doing it on Mother's Day bcuz I do what I want.

This Adidas jacket was borrowed for the day bcuz somebody actually left it at my house so I basically had to wear it.  It's since been confiscated by it's original owner, but I'll always have this pic.

Annnnnd a vintage black tulle and sequin prom dress I've been hoarding, but can't actually really zip up w/o, you know, some major help...

It's now listed here:

Also, if you're interested or just nosey, check out the little Airbnb place I've got going on...  Asheville is a pretty sweet little city if you've been paying attention to my blog, you might want to visit :)
